The Unique Style of Julie Beckett

Julie Beckett came to the Dingle Peninsula to learn Irish, in 1994. Soon after she decided to move here and made the small village of Ballyferriter her home. Inspired by the Landscape and Culture of this beautiful part of the world, Julie rekindled her interest in Art.

With a particular interest in creating different textured effects and she is continually exploring different methods and possibilities, employing a variety of materials.

Julie has created her own unique style with her flower Paintings and explores the fragility, delicacy, and, contradictorily, the strength of petal and leaf, pistil and stamen. Constructed in three dimensions using mixed media and finished in oil. The luminous quality of the paint enriches the vibrancy, so that they appear to become alive and grow within the frame.

Julie now demonstrates her ability as a landscape artist with a difference!! Again continuing with her interest in texture, she has developed an interesting technique to illustrate the striking scenery of Kerry.

Her own unique style of flower paintings and her ‘first time shown’ textured landscape paintings will be on exhibited at Art Ireland, Stand C8, RDS, Dublin on the 16 – 18 November 2007.

Julie’s work has been purchased by private collectors in Ireland, England, Holland, Israel and America
